A team of senior executives from Morris Equipment Canada recently travelled to Australia, visiting key agricultural regions and dealerships, and attending the Henty Machinery Field Days as part of their ongoing partnership with McIntosh Distribution, the distributor for Morris in Australia.

The visit underscored Morris’s commitment to understanding the unique needs of Australian farmers and ensuring the next generation of seeding technology continues to deliver market-leading performance.

Among the visiting team was Clint Sheppard, Director of Research and Development for Morris Equipment, who said the trip was an important opportunity to engage directly with farmers, dealers and the McIntosh Distribution team.

“The main purpose for our visit was to continue to partner with McIntosh Distribution to understand the needs of Australian farmers,” Mr Sheppard said.

“This helps us to focus our engineering efforts on products that make a difference on their farms.”

“We invest a significant amount of our research and development on Australian requirements and we want to be sure we work on the right things.”

Mr Sheppard said that while there are significant differences between Australian and North American farming systems, the goal for both regions remains the same; performance.

“Our customers in both markets have recognised that Morris seeding gear is growing better crops than other equipment and raising the bar on emergence and crop development.”

“In turn, this is driving us to further improve performance in efficiency, accuracy and capacity.”

The visit also provided the Canadian team with valuable insight into how Australian farmers are using Morris products in tough local conditions and how the McIntosh Distribution team continues to refine the offering to meet those challenges.

“One of my key takeaways from the trip was the enthusiasm from the McIntosh Distribution team to make Morris products better,” Mr Sheppard said.

“There are several new ideas that we are working on now to meet the needs of Australian farmers that have come from McIntosh staff listening to customers and dealers, and relaying good information to our product development committee.”

“Looking at these new product ideas, I am excited for the potential growth moving forward.”

McIntosh Distribution General Manager, Digby Moullin, said the visit highlighted the strength of the partnership between McIntosh Distribution and Morris Canada and demonstrated how ongoing collaboration drives innovation.

“Having the Morris leadership team here on the ground in Australia shows their commitment to continuous improvement,” Mr Moullin said.

“Morris is always evolving. Every year, we’re learning more from our customers and feeding that directly back into the design process. That’s how we stay ahead of the curve and continue to deliver the most advanced seeding solutions on the market.”

“It’s an exciting time for the brand in Australia. We’ve seen powerful success stories from the 10 series and 24m Quantum’s inaugural 2025 season, which are expected to be repeated with even more upcoming deliveries for 2026.”

The presence of the Morris executives at Henty Field Days attracted plenty of attention, with visitors keen to discuss the latest seeding innovations and hear firsthand how the Canadian engineering team is tailoring technology for Australian conditions.
