LiuGong’s T Series has several models with different capacities.
Backed by global sales milestones and significant design awards, LiuGong wheel loaders are consistently delivering for Australian farmers.
When LiuGong first launched its T Series of wheel loaders to the Australian market, agricultural operators involved in demonstrations were “absolutely wrapped”.
This momentum has continued with several areas since pointing to their popularity among local farmers.
The first is that sales have been roughly equal between the agricultural and civil construction sectors, LiuGong Australia says, despite wheel loaders’ historic reputation as being designed for the construction industry.
The second is the number of new customers coming on board, giving an insight into the growing popularity of the machine type but also LiuGong Australia’s capability to meet these needs.
LiuGong Australia’s Johnny Inferrera has been involved with the T Series since their introduction and believes there are several reasons why Australian farmers have been drawn to these machines.
“The loaders are proven for various material handling, including earthmoving, fertiliser and grain handling, and, in addition to various attachments such as hay and pallet forks, operators can source even bigger buckets with them if desired,” he says.
“The European styling is very good and the new instrument panel allows a lot of easy controllability for operators from the cab.
“Everything is done by touch screen – there are no dials – and operators can specially set things for separate activities.”
Local farmers have already benefitted from LiuGong’s 848T wheel loader.
Global growth
The quality of LiuGong’s T Series wheel loaders has been recognised in more than just Australia.
They won a Red Dot award earlier this year for design, with these awards globally recognised as being a measure of agricultural innovation.
According to the Red Dot jury, the T Series “impresses with its ergonomic design, service accessibility and crossplatform system logic”.
LiuGong’s popularity has a brand has been rapidly increasing in Australia, with its regional and metro dealer network covering all of Australia.
The company has been well established around the world and marks 60 years of wheel loader production in 2026.
It is not the only milestone though, with LiuGong also producing its 600,000th wheel loader last month since the company’s inception – having also introduced China’s first domestically developed wheel loader in 1966.
Multiple boosts
Having been a new series of loaders which built on six decades of innovation, LiuGong was able to add a number of features across the T Series range which it knew would enhance functionality and durability.
The buckets come with movable teeth and blades that are now more convenient to assemble and disassemble, while the main knife plate and side cutting plate have been treated with special processes to ensure longer wear resistance.
The hydraulic system has been updated, incorporating the conversion of a two-pump combined flow system to a single-pump unit, which has increased the overall working pressure.
A liquid-driven, air-in type cooling system with intelligent fan speed adjustment has been rearranged to optimise the wind field and enhance heat dissipation, furthering their ability in extreme conditions such as those experienced on Australian farms.
Fuel tank capacity has also been increased across the board, while maintenance has been made easier.
From ground level, operators can now add fuel and oil as well as service the diesel filters, while oil changes are only required every 2000 hours which helps to further reduce maintenance costs.
The wheel loaders are helping Australian farmers with cleanup work.
Models for all
One particular T Series model has been highlighted by LiuGong Australia as having particular popularity within the agricultural sector – the 848T.
This wheel loader has a 3 cubic metre bucket and 178hp (133kW) Cummins B7 engine while weighing 15,800kg.
Farmers will also benefit from a 166kN standard breakout force and 2,952mm standard dump clearance, along with load sensing hydraulic steering and 946Nm of torque at 1,500rpm.
There is a maximum travel speed of 39km/h forward and 26km/h reverse, plus a 9.4-second hydraulic cycle time.
The T Series range is extensive, with models going from the 6,800kg 820T, all the way up to the 890T that boasts a 350hp (261kw) Cummins X12 engine, 5.4 cubic metre bucket capacity and a 33,000kg operating weight plus a 25,500kg rated load capacity.
There is also the 838T, which has a 152hp (113kW) Cummins engine and 2.3 cubic metre bucket capacity.
Next is the 856T that provides a 3.5 cubic metre bucket and is powered by a 228hp Cummins engine, followed by the 886T with a 322hp (240kW) Cummins engine and 4.5 cubic metre bucket capacity.
Across the range, operator comfort and safety has been put at the forefront.
They each provide 360-degree surround handrails and anti-slip steps to ensure safe and easy access to the comfortable and ergonomic pressurised cabin.
Inside the quiet and dust-free cab, there is a multi-adjustable arm rest, joystick and air-suspension seat to make long days comfortable, while curved panoramic glass windows and optional rear-view camera maximise visibility for operators.
Combined with LiuGong’s technological upgrades such as the touchscreen and newly-designed instrument panels – which the manufacturer describes as being game-changing design advancements – the functionality of the T Series has been a winner for Australian farmers.
When the additional power and efficiency to handle the big jobs is also factored in, the result is a machine with Inferrera sums up succinctly.
“I believe it’s better than anything else on the market,” he says.
